This photo-drawing is part of a body of work titled Glimpses of Fiji. In 2014 I spent five months sailing around the Fijian Islands, meeting local people and discovering remote locations.
The piece pictures local children from a tiny remote village in Yasawa Island, drawn by hand using a graphic tablet.
Meeting these children deeply touched me. They have so little and yet they are so stubbornly joyful and full of energy, utilizing everything around them as a fun playground.
It’s an ideal piece of bright and fun art for someone who would love a daily reminder to always smile and look at the bright side of life.”
